Hey Teebs

You want a zine?   About Me   I'm also here

poetry, zines, shade, art, fashion, friendship, tattoos, singers -- and a place for my notes and rough drafts

Did a bit of the museum-thing today. I wasn’t able to attend Comic-Con this year b/c I’m abroad, so I hit up this comics exhibit at the Ethnological Museum of Berlin. One of the first things I wanted to do was illustrate for superhero comics like the X-Men, and had my first small press in fifth grade called Tommy Gunn Comics. I got some cousins and friends to draw/write little comic strips for me, and I would bind them and place the TOMMY GUNN logo (a crudely drawn Thompson submachine gun of course) in the upper left-hand corner on each cover. I’d sell them for a dollar each to classmates and my parents. Mostly my parents. I guess it was the first zine I ever made. Then in 2008 I picked up my old habit, except my thing became poetry and all my friends were artists and writers, and birdsong/Birdsong Collective was born!
